Whitehaven Beach Sailing Tours: Day Sail or a Night on Board?
Sail to Whitehaven Beach: Camira's drinks-included day from US$182, the schooner Providence from US$154, adults-only Lady Enid, and 2-day sails from US$343 (October 2026).
A sailing trip to Whitehaven Beach is either a full day under sail from Airlie Beach, from about US$154 to US$207 a person, or a two- or three-day trip sleeping on board, from about US$343 (GetYourGuide, October 2026).

The day sails reach the same beach and Hill Inlet as the motor cruises but take longer over it; the overnight trips are the only way to wake up near Whitehaven without camping. Which one fits depends mostly on who you are travelling with.

The three day sails
Camira is the social, comfortable one. Cruise Whitsundays’ big catamaran, which its listing calls one of the fastest commercial catamarans in the world, moors at the northern end of Whitehaven for the Hill Inlet walk (tide permitting), a swim and a barbecue lunch cooked on board, then snorkels a fringing reef on the way back. Soft drinks are included, and beer and wine from 11 AM, which makes Camira better value than its US$182 looks if you drink. It is rated 4.7 from 1,525 reviews.
Providence is the traditional one: a 62-foot gaff-rigged schooner where you can help haul up the sails. It sails across the Whitsunday Passage to Tongue Bay, anchors for the Hill Inlet walk, then snorkels a fringing reef, over about nine hours. Providence is the cheapest Airlie Beach day to Whitehaven at US$154, lunch included if you choose that option, but it needs 15 passengers to sail, and at 4.3 it is the lowest-rated tour on this site’s list.
Lady Enid is the adults-only one. Iconic Whitsunday Adventures pitches it as barefoot luxury: morning tea, lunch, a fruit platter, and sparkling wine with antipasto and cheese in the afternoon, with snorkel gear and a stinger suit in season. Lady Enid is from US$207, rated 4.7, and not suitable for guests arriving by cruise ship.

Sleeping on board
The overnight boats are mostly aimed at young travellers, and the listings say so. Habibi’s trip says it is geared to the 18-to-30 backpacker market, has no air-conditioning, and has a fresh-water deck shower rather than hot water; you sleep in a shared or private cabin, or on deck if the weather is kind. Prosail’s maxi yacht is for “adventurous singles, couples and groups normally aged between 18-39”, with dormitory-style sections and some shared double beds, hot showers and hammocks.

All of them are weather-dependent, and the OzSail listings spell out the rules: trips can be rescheduled, shortened or moved to a substitute vessel, with a refund if a cancellation or a material change affects the trip. Travel insurance is worth having, as Habibi recommends.
